Straw does not take direct embroidery or ink well, so personalization goes on something attached to the hat: an embroidered or leather patch on the crown or front, a printed or embroidered band or ribbon, or a full-color sublimated panel on the under-brim of a lifeguard hat. Names, monograms, dates and logos all work; the proof shows the exact element, size and position before anything is made.
The hat and the personalization are priced separately. Catalog straw hats are quoted by style and quantity (a natural palm lifeguard hat is the lowest tier, floppy and cowboy styles higher); the patch, band print or under-brim art is a per-hat charge plus one setup per design. Individual names are a small add-on per hat. Send the style, the names or logo and the count and you get a per-hat price back, usually the same business day.
Not for the personalization. If you bring your own straw hats, we patch or band one or a dozen. Hats from the promotional catalog carry supplier minimums that vary by style, often a dozen to a few dozen, and we tell you the number before you commit. Bachelorette parties and wedding parties of six to twelve usually fall inside the minimum on at least one style.
